Teaching – as a list

Fundamental research can be slow, long and tedious making one wonder several times if we are truly advancing the knowledge base of human as we claim that it does. Teaching helps me balance these doubts with hope. It reminds me of the large achievements we have made, it reminds me of the passion I carried when I was in high school when I decided to study physics, and most importantly it slows me down and helps me think more clearly as I figure out a way to explain my thoughts to others.

Undergraduate specialisation course on Interaction of radiation with matter – Spring 2024

Taught a three credit (online) course for undergraduate engineering students at SASTRA University (alma mater) for their second course in “Nuclear Technologies” specialisation

Undergraduate specialisation course on Physics at particle accelerators – Fall 2023, Fall 2024

Taught a three credit (online) course for undergraduate engineering students at SASTRA University (alma mater) for their first course in “Nuclear Technologies” specialisation

Simulations with PISA , PHENIX Summer School, 2022

A short introduction to PISA, the PHENIX simulation software for new users of PHENIX collaboration.

Mini-series On Experimental physics, 2022

A three part mini-series on what is experimental high energy physics. The audience for this talk was undergraduate students in university of Colima, Mexico who are typically aspiring theorists.

PhD Defense Communication Videos

For my PhD defense, I made a short 5 minute video and a two page write-up for my committee members and friends in the physics department so that can follow along my talk better.

Mini lecture course on TPC detector for undergrads, 2016 – 2018

Wrote and taught a series of material on Mechanical design. Electronics, avalanche stage and gas circulation system for the undergrads in Tom Hemmick’s TPC lab for them to get familiar with our lab and the detector

Building of cosmic ray Detectors, 2016 – 2021

A 10 hour course over 4 weeks for high school students on understanding cosmic rays, assembling cosmic ray detectors, teaching trigger systems and basic electronics and analysis simple data.

Building of Cloud Chamber Detector, 2016 – 2021

A 4 hour course for high school students on understanding the basics of particle physics and building a cloud chamber to observe basic alpha and beta radiations.

Teaching Assistantship, 2016 – 2017

Taught a basic physics electronics lab for two years for pre-med undergraduate students at Stony Brook University.

CELERITAS – the physics forum at SASTRA University, 2012 – 2014

Headed a physics forum called CELERITAS at my undergraduate university. We met every week and gave lectures to our colleagues and fellow physics enthusiasts. Through this forum I discovered Chaos, by James Gleick which I converted to a 5 part lecture to teach and discuss at this forum.
